Additional ways we're addressing the pressing concern of food waste:

  • We can facilitate a customized approach to introduce‭ ‬green packaging‭ ‬and partner with a third-party organization to conduct‭ ‬waste audits‭. ‬
  • At some locations‭, ‬we use‭ ‬food waste pulpers‭ ‬to grind up food scraps to reduce the volume and minimize the waste we send to landfills‭.‬
  • Through ESFM, ‬we partner on initiatives such as‭ ‬converting food scraps to soil‭.‬
  • We work with companies to‭ ‬recycle our used cooking oil‭ ‬where available‭.‬
  • Skip the Straw‭ ‬informs our guests about the impact plastic straws have on the environment‭, ‬and why removing them from service benefits the planet‭. ‬
  • Provide used coffee grounds‭ ‬for our guests to use in their home gardens‭. ‬

Food Recovery‭ ‬is‭ ‬an important component of the Stop Food Waste program when complete reduction at the source is not possible‭. ‬We partner with Eatable‭, ‬Food Recovery Network and Feeding America to navigate the process to safely recover prepared food and donate fresh‭, ‬nutritious meals to neighboring organizations‭. ‬Working with our client and area leaders to help people in need has a positive impact‭ ‬on the health of our communities‭, ‬while helping us reduce waste and become more efficient as a company‭.‬
